Hear me out.
Pigeons are domesticated animals and can't even survive without the help of the human race. Have you ever seen a pigeon in the woods? Have you ever seen a pigeon in the wilderness? That's right, you haven't because they're basically the equivalent of avian strays. Aww. So while we're picking up stray cats and dogs on the street all the time, there are our forlorn pigeon babies just duking it out with the elements on their own.

One woman realized the pet potential of a couple of pigeons after accidentally discovering a makeshift ‘nest’ on her balcony. After months of feeding the mom and dad pigeon (who alternated warming the eggs), she helped incubate a pair of baby pigeons until they were big enough to fly out of the nest. And no, this story doesn't end up with a girl saving pigeons from the wild, but it's a story of how a pigeon obsession began with a little bit of TLC and a lot of good birdy karma.
